About SING

Our SING Logo

Our unique logo was designed by Indigenous artist Rudy Romero and debuted at the 2016 SING Alumni meeting at the University of Madison-Wisconsin. This logo reflects our organization’s use of genomics as tool while also incorporating and respecting Indigenous worldviews and traditions. The eagle feather and medicine wheel are sacred symbols for many Indigenous nations.

Note: The Indigenous artist granted sole use of this logo to the Summer internship for INdigenous peoples in Genomics (SING) Consortium. Therefore, rights for its use belong to the SING Consortium exclusively.

Alteration of misuse of our logo constitutes cultural appropriation. Unauthorized use of our logo for commercial purposes is tantamount to cultural exploitation.
